The Mountain Town and Resort Planners Summit was initiated and continues as a hands-on conference where participants actively share their expertise related to planning their special communities. The organizers recognized that there was tremendous value in creating a conference where professionals working directly in mountain towns and resorts were able to network and learn from each other. The Summit showcases real life situations highlighting not only best practices but also less successful directions.
The Summit organizers are Brian Grubb and Caroline Lamont, met while on the planning staff at the City of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Brian's experience spans more than two decades while working in mountain towns and resort communities in the US West. He has been a professional in Jackson Hole Wyoming, and in Colorado including Steamboat Springs, Fort Lupton and Boulder. He is currently the Planning Director in Buffalo, Wyoming. When pushed, Brian will confess that he is a snowboarder but also is an avid rock climber.
Caroline Lamont has been planning in mountain towns for the past 20 years with experience in communities including Whistler BC, Steamboat Springs Colorado, Revelstoke BC, Sun Valley ID and Summerland BC. She is currently the Manager of Development Services for the Village of Pemberton (a community 30 minutes north of Whistler).
